"Before I started working with Etta Projects, I was timid. Etta Projects has taught me how to defend myself. The workshops are important, not only for me but for a lot of women in this neighborhood. We get love from Etta Projects. I feel like a real person now, not just someone's worker. And I think I am a better mom now. I know I have a lot to learn, the learning never ends...but I am better mom now.

The Water Project has also been really good. Before my family and I drank whatever water without knowing there was something wrong with it. Both my children and I have learned a lot. The kids want to wash their hands and drink clean water now. They say to me, "Mommy, I will only drink water from the filter." This is the first time in my life that I have had this kind of service. I never knew or thought about these things before. I was inviting illnesses into my home without knowing it. Now we know."

"I have learned a lot over the last few years from Etta Projects. I graduated from the cosmetology workshop and now a lot of people come to my home to get this service. It helps me to earn some extra money. My children are also in the Apoyo Escolar. They learn a lot there and get extra help with their homework. The Water Project has also helped us. Now I am drinking clean, healthy water. My children do not get sick as much as they use to. We can bring the filters into the country and drink clean water there too. This is good. I like working with the people from Etta Projects. They always have a lot of patience. They have taught me and my kids a lot."

"I love going to the meetings at the Water Project. When I am at home, I get bored. This is the first project in this neighborhood, and it brings us closer together. When it's for our kids and our family, we mothers participate. Our water is better too. A lot of people here live with dirty water. Now we have healthy, clean water. I've learned a lot, like washing our hands and how to eliminate garbage. And my kids are learning too and now they help me more.
